If there was anything YESS Training could capture and share, I would want it to be the heart and sole of training and what it could do for the individual. Maybe this video will set the tone for this interview.

CIS football
Twenty-seven universities across Canada compete in football under the auspices of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). The teams are divided into four conferences, drawing from the four regional associations of the CIS: Canada West Universities Athletic Association, Ontario University Athletics, Quebec Student Sports Federation, and Atlantic University Sport. At the end of every season, the champions of each conference advance to semifinal bowl games; the winners of these meet in the Vanier Cup national championship.

Push To Collapse
Bigger than winning Olympic Gold - was Gable's desire to KNOW he gave it everything he had in pursuit of his goal - and that there was nothing more he could have done to make it come true.

Sam Dana, NFL's oldest former player, passes away at age 104
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Sam Dana, who was the oldest living former NFL player and once played football alongside Lou Gehrig at Columbia, died in his sleep late Monday night. He was 104.
Dana had been living with his son, Bob Dana, in Buffalo before spending his final two years at McAuley Residence, an assisted living seniors center where he would regularly watch his beloved Buffalo Bills on television. He died because of complications from an infection.

I posted the video to demonstrate the potential of the body and mind. This ‘win at all costs’ mentality is very important as a competitive athlete. You may never need to display this kind of courage, but it is something that great athletes have in their back pocket if necessary.

Hate to see the cheap shots taken by fans and writers at what went down over the last 5 days with regards to the series and Colorado’s team. They may not use it as an excuse, I certainly don’t expect to hear it from Helton, Holliday Hurdle or any others, but the 8 days between games, in my opinion, had a negative effect on them. I still believe we are the best team in the world, and 8 days or not we would have won, but I think it did impact them in many different ways. 8 days off and then you step in the box and have to face the best pitcher on the planet?

Sorry folks, but my back feels fine. I woke up fresh and ready to run. I actually put in a solid interval workout with Matt Godfrey, ranked #2 by the WBC and the current NABF cruiserweight champion.

Six Pack Abs on a 72-Year Old
I'm seventy one (+) and bought both 'Conditioning' and 'Abs' books. I found that while doing Hindu pushups I visualize a needle coming up from the floor while in the up position. To keep from getting painfully stuck, I pull in my abs as hard as I can for a second. I have a sixpack for the first time in my life including when I wrestled in high school and when I went through Marine Corps boot camp at Perris Island.
By the way; after about a month of one day a week squats and pushups I got up to 36 pushups and 200 squats before changing to daily workouts of 15 pushups and 30 squats. To add a little strength I then do 3 sets of single leg half squats and three sets of 8 pullups or chins.

We landed in Denver around 4:45am this morning. Needless to say the flight felt a lot shorter after the win than it otherwise might have.
Papajima, that’s mine. It was that or Okibon. Whatever you want to call it those two guys, along with the HORRIBLY unheralded Mike Lowell, were pretty much completely responsible for the 2-1 game 2 win. If you go back and watch Okie’s 2 1/3 innings I think you’ll agree that it was pretty much as perfect and dominating a relief appearance as you could ever expect or imagine on the October stage. Paps was flat out dominating in finishing it up too.

Farmer Burns
Martin "Farmer" Burns (February 15, 1861 - 1937) was a world champion "catch-as-catch-can" wrestler as well as wrestling coach and teacher. Born in Cedar County, Iowa he started wrestling as a teenager and made money traveling around the Midwest wrestling in carnivals and fairs. As a professional he claimed the world title by defeating Evan "Strangler" Lewis in 1895 and held the title for three years. Martin Burns himself claimed to have wrestled in over 6,000 matches and further claimed to have lost only six.

Double amputee struggles, succeeds
The Atlanta Ironman kept to his wheelchair this past week. The ends of his amputated legs were blistered, swollen and raw, and showing signs of infection. His muscles felt like they had been doing laps through a pasta maker. The gifts of completing one of the globe's notorious endurance races just kept giving.
A week ago, on the big island of Hawaii, Scott Rigsby, 39, became the first below-the-knee double amputee to complete an Ironman triathlon. That meant swimming 2.4 miles without legs, then biking 112 miles and running a 26.2-mile marathon with prosthetics. He had 17 hours to complete the task. He made it in 16:42:46 — a little close, but that kind of history didn't require much margin.

If you get to the dance and play all the way through you pretty much play close to 200 games in about 225 days. Most of those off days are spent traveling or at the park receiving treatment or working on your swing or something. Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan, both All Pro NFL players and damn good major leaguers said that the ML season and the NFL season weren’t even close. The MLB schedule was 10 times the grind of the NFL schedule. It’s not any one thing, but the fact is, aches, pains and bruises aside, you suit up every single day and compete against the best players in the world once every twenty four hours.
